'This is the Day the Universe Dies!' Chameleon Boy announces that Ultra Boy was framed for the murder of An Ryd, but before the full truth comes out the Legion must deal with the threat of Omega, a giant creature claiming to be the embodiment of all the hate in the universe.
Plotter/Penciller Jim Starlin is credited as 'Steve Apollo' as he objected to changes made in his story. (The two-parter was originally supposed to be a single story in a DC Special, but was reworked to fit in the regular book.)
