The vast Leviathan class dreadnought, the Shiva, dwarfed her children as they spun down from her dark bellies. First down were the convict "Cyclos" with the nero-regulators embedded in their skulls glowing like single red eyes. Next were the Talos units, cyborg warriors of gleaming beryllium-bronze, every action directed by the perfect logic of their cyberneural brains. Then the battlefield striders-like giants with glossy skins of plasticated steel. Last down, more fragile than the rest, were the centions of regulars, some in laminated armor, others in padded enviro battle suits....
