The Penguin manages to escape from his burning hide-out under cover of thick smoke, while Robin dashes to the large wheel upon the wall, and begins to turn it in the opposite direction from the way he had seen the Penguin turn it. Slowly the spike-filled slab that had been descending upon Batman begins to rise. Within moments, Robin has helped him from the pit, to safety.
