Caliber Press is currently in its fifth year of operations. It is a comic book publisher that has been at the forefront of offering titles owned by creators and allowing those same creators to put forth their unique voices, sometimes at the expense of higher sales that could possible be obtained by following a path of derivation based on what is currently popular in today's market.
Although Caliber has its share of "big name" talent working within its pages, it has been known for delivering new talent into the comics world. There are dozens of creators who made their mark at Caliber and now have moved on to the major companies and found a large base of fans.
Caliber continues to offer new and exciting voices to the medium, but this shouldn't be construed to imply that Caliber is Simply a training ground. The work done by many of these untested creators still must stand on its own and a potential for quality is not enough.
